In order to produce nanostructured polymer blends with Blocktone 20B nanoclay powder and achieve uniform distribution of nanoclay platelets within the polymer matrix, it is essential to use a twin screw extruder or an internal mixer. The amount of nanoclay added varies depending on the type of product and desired final properties, but typically ranges between 1 to 3 parts, with some specific cases allowing for an increase up to 5 parts. For optimal results, it is recommended to first prepare the initial masterbatch by mixing nanoclay with an appropriate amount of maleic anhydride-grafted polymer compatibilizers, and then dilute this masterbatch and reach the final concentration using the base polymer.
